What: The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has received a $34,000 grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for DUI Enforcement.
The grant will be utilized to fund a DUI Enhancement Project in Pinellas County.
When: The project will begin on Saturday, February 3, 2018, and run through September 30, 2018.
Where: The project will be implemented throughout Pinellas County, in areas known for impaired driving activity.
Why/How: The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has received a $34,000 grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for DUI Enforcement.
Beginning on Saturday, February 3, 2018 and through September 30, 2018, Pinellas deputies will be conducting “saturation patrols” throughout Pinellas County. During the saturation patrols, deputies will be searching for impaired drivers, speeders, and drivers not utilizing safety belts among other traffic violations.
The locations of these saturation patrols will be in areas known for impaired driving activity and dependent upon activities occurring in the community.
The saturation patrols will supplement the quarterly multi-jurisdictional DUI Wolf Packs.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will continue Wolf Packs and DUI enforcement throughout the year.
