What: In an effort to reduce DUI related injuries and deaths, deputies will conduct a Wolf Pack operation in Pinellas County over the weekend.
Where: Deputies and other law enforcement officers will monitor traffic throughout Pinellas County.
When: The operation will begin at 7 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 and continue until 5 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017. How/Why: Pinellas County deputies, in conjunction with the Belleair Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, Gulfport Police Department, Kenneth City Police Department, and the St. Petersburg Police Department will conduct a DUI Wolf Pack operation. They will maintain a proactive profile over the weekend on the highly-traveled roadways of Pinellas County.
The operation will begin at 7 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 and continue until 5 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017.
The operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff's on-going commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving. The goal of the Wolf Pack is to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.), Remove Intoxicated Drivers USA Inc. (RID), and the Suncoast Safety Council will be supporting law enforcement during the operation.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will be conducting Wolf Packs continuously throughout the year.
